The U.S. Government requests companies with the proficiency and financial means to provide services in relation to construction and paving:

Scope of work includes but is not limited to:

  • Remove all existing paving between the SCAC and Utility Buildings
  • Install new SABS-approved, 80mm interlocking grey pavers per the manufacturer's recommendations

U.S Government Payment terms:

Note that NO DEPOSIT payments will be authorized.

The Embassy issues only fixed priced contracts; therefore, you must confirm that your prices will remain fixed. The US Embassy will make no provision for fluctuations in price or exchange rates once the order has been placed. If your price is dependent on these fluctuations, you MUST make provision for possible increases in your quoted price.

Available Payment methods:

EFT Payment will be made within 30 calendar days after delivery of goods and/or services AND receipt of invoice, whichever is later.

The attached FAR and DOSAR clauses attached form part of this contract.

Background
The U.S. Government is seeking qualified companies to provide construction and paving services for the Utility and SCAC Building Paving Project located at the American Consulate General in Johannesburg, South Africa. This project aims to enhance the infrastructure of U.S. Government-managed property by replacing existing paving and ensuring proper drainage and stability for heavy vehicles.

Work Details
The scope of work includes:

- Removing all existing paving between the SCAC and Utility Buildings;
- Repairing and stabilizing the subgrade to support heavy vehicles;
- Grading the area for positive drainage;
- Installing new SABS-approved, 80mm interlocking grey pavers;
- Removing grass in front of the compressor/wash bay, compacting, and paving that area;
- Compacting and paving an island at the wash bay;
- Stacking salvageable pavers neatly;
- Removing broken pavers, debris, and rubble promptly;
- Providing a one-year workmanship guarantee including soil compaction.

The approximate areas for work include:

- 523 m² from SCAC to Utility Building,
- 16 m² in front of wash bay/compressor,
- 11 m² for the island at wash bay,

Totaling 550 m².

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must demonstrate a history as a civil contractor with three contactable references from comparable projects. They must also comply with local laws and safety standards.
