Background
The U.S. Embassy in Pretoria, South Africa, is seeking a contractor for a plumbing revamp and refurbishment project at the residence located at Alken 518. The goal of this contract is to prepare the residence for occupancy by completing necessary plumbing renovations and installations.

Work Details
The work required under this contract includes:
- Complete pipe work replacement from the water meter throughout the residence, ensuring all new pipe work is installed.
- Replacement of all plumbing and associated systems, including sewer lines.
- Full renovations in various areas such as the master bathroom, bathroom 1, kitchen, and staff kitchen & bathroom.
- Installation of two heat pump geysers and circulation pumps (power points excluded).

Specific tasks include:
1. Exterior & waterline replacement: Complete water line replacement from the city council line through the residence; installation of new pressure control valves; installation of PVC pipes and copper surface pipes; securing pipe work with brackets; rerouting water supply to connect at bathrooms and kitchen.

2. Sewer line replacement: General inspection of existing pipe work; replacement of approximately 140m of sewer line; installation of new manholes and gullies.

3. Master bathroom renovation: Full strip down to concrete; reconfiguration to an open walk-in shower; complete retile including waterproofing.

4. Bathroom 1 renovation: Similar to master bathroom with full key turnover.

5. Kitchen renovation: Replacement of sink, prep bowl, faucet, and associated waste pipes.

6. Staff quarters renovation: Installation of basin, pedestal, faucet, medicine cabinet, shower rail, and complete re-tile.

7. Heat pump installation: Removal of existing solar heaters; installation of integrated heat pumps with required concrete slabs.

8. Final make ready and finishing touches including inspection of drains and touch-up paint as necessary.
