Excavator Rental B&G

Background
The Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC) is seeking quotes for the rental of a hydraulic excavator to support their mission of conducting research and development in engineering.

The goal of this contract is to obtain a 30-metric ton or larger hydraulic excavator specifically configured for heavy concrete demolition at their facility in Vicksburg, MS.

Work Details
The contractor will provide a one-month rental of a hydraulic excavator equipped with a quick-change hydraulic hammer/breaker and excavation bucket.

The equipment must be optimized for the destruction of reinforced concrete slabs and vertical walls up to 18 inches thick. The vendor must deliver and pick up the equipment from 3909 Halls Ferry Road, Vicksburg, MS 39180.

The excavator must meet the following minimum specifications:
- Operating weight between 65,000 lbs – 75,000 lbs;
- Engine power between 200 hp – 275 hp;
- Auxiliary hydraulics for continuous hammer/breaker operation;
- FOPS Level II cab configuration;
- Track type with 31" triple grouser shoes;
- Swing speed between 9.0 – 10.5 RPM.

Additionally, the equipment must include a hydraulic quick-change system for tool-less switching between hammer and bucket, a hydraulic hammer with an impact energy class of 7,500 – 9,000 ft-lb, and an excavation bucket sized between 42" – 54" heavy duty.

Operational safety requirements include full front and top windshield guarding, an automatic lubrication system for the hammer and linkage, and an on-board fire extinguisher.

Period of Performance
The rental period is set for one month (28 days/up to 280 hours).
