Description

This is a Request for Information (RFI) ONLY. On behalf of the United States Human Resource Command (HRC) the MICC Fort Knox office is issuing this RFI. The U.S. Government desires the following items to support Human Resource Command (HRC), Casualty and Mortuary Affairs Operations Division (CMAOD) standard metal casket, standard hardwood casket, oversize metal casket, oversize wood casket, cremation casket, urn solid bronze standard, urn solid bronze oversized, urn solid hardwood standard, urn solid hardwood oversize, air tray standard, air tray oversize, shipping for Europe and Korea. Your responses to the information requested will assist the Government in determining the appropriate acquisition method, including whether a set-aside is possible. We encourage all small business concerns, in all socioeconomic categories Business Development Program, Small Disadvantage Business, Historically Underutilized Business Zone, Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned, Women-Owned Small Business concerns), to identify their capabilities in meeting the requirement at a fair market price.

This notice is issued solely for information and planning purposes it does not constitute a Request for Quote (RFQ)/Invitation for Bid (IFB)/Request for Proposal (RFP) or a promise to issue an RFQ, IFB or RFP in the future. This notice does not commit the U.S. Government to contract for any supply or service. Further, the U.S. Government is not seeking quotes, bids or proposals at this time and will not accept unsolicited proposals in response to this RFI. The U.S. Government will not pay for any information or administrative costs incurred in response to this notice. Submittals will not be returned to the responder. Not responding to this notice does not preclude participation in any future RFQ or IFB or RFP, if any is issued.

  1. Subject line of email shall contain: "Company Name RFI Response"
  2. Name of the firm, point of contact, phone number, email address, DUNS number, CAGE code, a statement regarding small business status (including small business type(s)/certifications(s) such as SDB, 8(a), HUBZone, SDVOSB, WOSB, etc.) and the corresponding NAICS code.
  3. Identify whether your firm is interested in competing for this requirement as a prime contractor or not. Identify subcontracting, joint ventures or teaming arrangement that will be pursued, if any.
Background
The United States Human Resource Command (HRC) is seeking information to support its Casualty and Mortuary Affairs Operations Division (CMAOD). The goal of this contract is to procure various types of caskets and urns, including standard metal and hardwood caskets, cremation caskets, and solid bronze and hardwood urns.

This Request for Information (RFI) aims to assist the government in determining the appropriate acquisition method, including potential set-asides for small businesses across various socioeconomic categories.

Work Details
The contractor shall provide the following items:
1. **Caskets**:
- **Metal Caskets**:
- Standard size 18-gauge metal sealer cut-top casket: Inside dimensions not less than 78 inches in length and 23 inches in width.
- Oversize 18-gauge metal sealer cut-top casket: Inside dimensions not less than 81 inches in length and 25 inches in width.
- **Wood Caskets**:
- Standard size perfection cut half-couch hardwood casket: Inside dimensions not less than 77 1/2 inches in length and 22 1/2 inches in width.
- **Cremation Caskets**: A hardwood perfection cut, half couch casket, standard adult size with minimal metal parts, upholstered in a neutral color material.
- **Urns**:
- Solid Bronze Urns: Standard size must have a minimum inside capacity of 200 cubic inches; oversize must have a minimum inside capacity of 300 cubic inches.
- Solid Hardwood Urns: Crafted from solid American black walnut with capacities similar to bronze urns.
2. **Outer Shipping Containers for Caskets (Air Trays)**:
- Sizes may include standard adult (32"Wx87"Lx23"H) and oversize adult (38"Wx92"Lx23"H).
3. **Shipping Requirements**:
- Shipping addresses include Miesau Army Depot in Germany and USFK Casualty & Mortuary Affairs Center in Korea. Special shipping instructions include protective measures for caskets during transport.
