ERIP Production T-64   2

Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) awarded a Cost Plus Fixed Fee Contract to General Electric Aviation on a sole source basis. This Contract is for the production of four T-64 Engine Cores at a cost of $8,245,146 to be built under the Engine Reliability Improvement Program (ERIP) in support of the CH-53E. The effort was procured pursuant to 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1) and FAR 6.302-1, "Only One Responsible Source and No Other Type of Supplies or Services will Satisfy Agency Requirements." General Electric Aviation is the sole designer, developer, and manufacturer of the T-64 engine and therefore is the only Contractor with the requisite knowledge, experience, and technical data that can meet the Government's need on a timely basis.
