Background
The Marine Corps Systems Command (MCSC), through the Product Manager, Engineer Systems (PdM ES) and Program Manager Combat Support Systems (PM CSS), is conducting market research to identify potential sources for the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Expeditionary Disassembly Tool (EDT).

The EDT program aims to utilize commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) items to enhance operational efficiency. The tool is designed to protect EOD technicians from explosive hazards while enabling rapid deployment in field environments.

Work Details
The EDT will support EOD technicians during Level 1 and Level 2 Ordnance Exploitation (ORDEX). Key tasks include:
1) Disassembling ordnance items by separating major components,
2) Placing sensitive components containing detonators or boosters into the EDT,
3) Using manual controls outside the EDT to remove explosive components for further analysis with minimal handling.

The Marine Corps plans to purchase 51 EDT systems. System requirements include:
1) Material availability of 90% with an objective of 95%;
2) Manual operation without external power;
3) Fully enclosed system for safe disassembly of explosive hazards up to two inches in diameter;
4) Capability to contain blasts from 11 grams of explosives;
5) Compatibility with MK 663 container for explosives collection; and additional requirements for safe setup and movement by two technicians.
