Background
The solicitation is for an Environmental Remedial Action Contract, which involves providing environmental remediation services at various contaminated sites predominantly located at Navy and Marine Corps installations and other Government agencies. The work will be performed primarily in multiple states and areas of the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and may also include Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) Program and Non-CERCLA sites throughout NAVFAC Atlantic’s area of responsibility. The contract may also require work outside of NAVFAC Atlantic’s area of responsibility as required by the Government.

Work Details
The contractor is required to perform a wide range of services including remedial actions, removal actions, pilot and treatability studies, facility operation and maintenance, munitions response program clean up and closure, range clean up and closure, RCRA closures, installation of temporary support facilities, site characterizations, geophysical surveys, hydrogeological and geotechnical testing, multimedia sampling and analysis, groundwater characterization studies, optimization reviews of remediation facilities and strategies, partnering with the Navy and regulatory agencies, technical support to the Navy on remedial actions, among others. The work also involves addressing various contaminants such as solvents, petroleum products, munitions constituents, radiological media, emerging contaminants, pesticides etc. The contractor is also responsible for compliance with federal, state, local regulations as well as Overseas Environmental Baseline Guidance Document (OEBGD) for OCONUS work.
