NSN: 1710-000569383 CRITICAL SAFETY ITEM (CSI)

The proposed procurement is for NSN, 1710-00-056-9383 (P/N 613492-1) made in accordance with 80020 NAVY drawings. Item is coded as a Critical Safety Item, and requires source approval from NAVAIR, Lakehurst. Solicitation is unrestricted. Contract type will be firm-fixed priced for a base quantity of 158 EA. Item is for a DLA Stock Location. Requested delivery is approximately 800 days with First Article Testing. Solicitation will require FOB Destination with Material Receipt Inspection at contractor's facility. While price may be a significant factor in the evaluation of offers, the final award decision will be based upon a combination of price, delivery, past performance and other evaluation factors as described in the solicitation.

AIRCRAFT LAUNCH AND RECOVERY EQUIPMENT (ALRE) CRITICAL APPLICATION ITEM SOURCE APPROVAL - TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR AWARD UNDER THIS SOLICITATION, AN OFFEROR MUST BE AN APPROVED SOURCE OR PROVIDE THE PRODUCT OF AN APPROVED SOURCE AS DETERMINED BY THE ENGINEERING SUPPORT ACTIVITY, NAVAL AIR WARFARE CENTER (NAWC) AIRCRAFT DIVISION LAKEHURST. THE CRITERIA AND PROCEDURES FOR SOURCE APPROVAL ARE CONTAINED IN PART I OFTHE NAVAL INVENTORY CONTROL POINT (NAVICP) PHILADELPHIA BROCHURE ENTITLED "SOURCE APPROVAL INFORMATION BROCHURE FOR SPARES". Based upon market research, the Government is not using the policies contained in Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items, in its solicitation for the described supplies or services.
