Turnaround time for STAT/emergent testing is 24 hours, or less, as indicated for patient care.

Background
The Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center, located in Charleston, SC, is seeking to procure laboratory testing services for urgent/emergent patient specimens that cannot be performed at their facility. The goal of this contract is to ensure timely and accurate laboratory testing for critical patient care needs.

Work Details
The contractor shall provide laboratory testing services for urgent/emergent patient specimens with limited viability. Testing includes Mycobacteria Stains, Microbiology Specimens, Immunoperoxidase Stains, Therapeutic Drugs, Bone Marrow Workup, and Clotting Factor assays.

The turnaround time for STAT/emergent testing must be 24 hours or less. The contractor must accept specimens seven days a week and provide 24-hour testing services for STAT urgency tests. The contractor will perform accurate laboratory testing and provide test results within acceptable time frames.

Specimen courier services will be provided twice daily on weekdays and upon request for off-route/STAT pickups. Performance measures will be monitored based on turnaround times, test completion rates, and error rates as outlined in the Quality Assurance Surveillance Plan (QASP). The contractor must possess a current/valid CMS CLIA Certificate for High Complexity Testing and a Laboratory Accrediting Agency Certificate.

Period of Performance
The contract will be performed continuously with services available 24 hours a day, seven days a week as required by the nature of the tests.

Place of Performance
Services will be performed at the contractor's laboratory facility.
