Emergency Department Physician   4

Background
The solicitation is for Emergency Department Physicians to provide clinical personnel who are competent, qualified, and adequately trained to perform assigned duties. The physicians are required to adhere to the standards of care set by various professional societies and organizations, including the American Board of Emergency Medicine, American Board of Osteopathic Emergency Medicine, and relevant professional societies. The physicians will also be responsible for resident supervision and teaching, clinical direction and oversight, attending physician duties, medical records compliance, patient safety reporting, and mandatory training.

Work Details
The contractor's physician(s) shall provide care in the Emergency Department including direct patient care, resident supervision and teaching, clinical direction and oversight of residents/fellows consistent with current accreditation guidelines, patient safety incident reporting using VA Patient Safety Reporting System, maintaining licensing, registration, and certification as they are renewed, completing all required training on time per VAMC policy, compliance with all laws, regulations, policies and procedures relating to Privacy, Confidentiality and HIPAA. Additionally, the contractor's physicians must complete training for the proper utilization of EDIS (Emergency Department Integration Software) as designed.

Period of Performance
The contract is for a period of performance where services will be provided 365 days a year including Federal Holidays.

Place of Performance
The contract will be performed at the VA Medical Center South Texas HCS located at 7400 Merton Minter Ave, San Antonio, TX 78229.
