EL Yunque NF-Translation Interpretation Services

Background
El Yunque National Forest (EYNF) is part of the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) and is seeking Translator/Interpreter services to assist Spanish and English speakers in various activities. The need for these services arises from significant changes in the forest due to the aftermath of two hurricanes, which have led to new responsibilities, high turnover of personnel, and additional construction projects under the Great American Outdoors Act. These changes necessitate effective communication between forest employees and government officials.

Work Details
The contractor will provide interpretation and translation services during meetings, conferences, and other engagements. Key tasks include:

- Facilitating translation from English to Spanish and vice versa;
- Ensuring accurate concepts and explanations without additions or omissions;
- Processing information swiftly while relaying intentions, emotions, and tone;
- Planning and coordinating translation services on scheduled dates;
- Maintaining smooth translations during engagements;
- Conducting a non-billable virtual engagement with the Forest Supervisor prior to meetings;
- Adhering to federal and state regulations as well as agency policies.

The contractor must also submit a Certificate of Non-Disclosure signed by all employees working under this contract and provide results of a criminal history background check for all employees.

Period of Performance
The anticipated period of performance is from June 1, 2026, to May 31, 2027, with options for four additional years extending through May 31, 2031.

Place of Performance
The services will be performed at El Yunque National Forest in Puerto Rico.
