EIE439 Fuels Management and Laboratory Facility   4

Background
The U.S. Army Engineer District, Alaska (POA) is issuing a solicitation for the EIE439 Fuels Management and Laboratory Facility project at Eielson Air Force Base (AFB), Alaska.

The mission of this project is to replace the existing Fuels Management and Laboratory Facility B3242, which is currently 1615 square feet, with a new facility measuring 4014 square feet. This new facility will include various operational and administrative spaces such as a laboratory, ready room for fuel operations, administrative offices, fuels control center, restrooms and locker rooms, conference rooms, classrooms, operations maintenance room, emergency eye wash and shower, and bulk storage room.

The goal of the contract is to provide a modernized facility that meets current operational needs while ensuring compatibility with existing systems at Eielson AFB.

Work Details
The construction tasks under this contract include: demolishing the existing Fuels Management and Laboratory Facility B3242; constructing a new 4014 square foot facility that includes a laboratory; ready room for fuel operations; administrative offices; fuels control center; restrooms and locker rooms; conference rooms; classrooms; operations maintenance room; emergency eye wash and shower; and bulk storage room.

Additionally, the project will incorporate restrictive brand name specifications for certain construction materials necessary to interface with existing systems at Eielson AFB. Specifically mentioned is the HVAC DDC Delta Control system which must be installed to ensure compatibility with the base-wide systems. The estimated cost of these restricted materials represents approximately 0.59% of the expected total construction cost.
