Ecoshare Website Management

Background
The Ecoshare.info website has been maintained by the United States Department of Agriculture Forest Service (USDA FS) for nearly 25 years, serving as a platform for distributing ecology-related information. It attracts thousands of visits annually from ecologists across state, federal, and academic institutions and houses significant ecological material representing substantial USDA FS investments in data collection and analysis.

The site was previously managed under contract with Tetra Tech. Between 2020 and 2022, the website transitioned to a .gov domain under the guidance of the Chief Information Office (CIO), which indicated a lack of capacity to manage the site post-transition, prompting the need for a contractor.

Work Details
The contract work is divided into two phases: Year 1 involves transferring pages/files from the .info website to the .gov website, estimated at about 200 hours of work. A guidance document has been created to assist in this process.

For Years 2-5, contingent on funding availability, the contractor will be responsible for ongoing maintenance and uploading new materials, averaging about 10 hours per month. Specific tasks include:
1. Completing all updates provided on Appendix A to the ecoshare.gov website within 90 days of contract commencement.
2. Managing the website to ensure it is fully updated and functional during Years 2-5.
3. Posting materials provided by the Regional Ecologist or their assignee to the ecoshare.gov website.
4. Correcting broken links as reported by the Regional Ecologist or their assignee.
5. Confirming postings, updates, and corrections with the Regional Ecologist or their assignee as they occur.

Period of Performance
The period of performance for this contract is from August 19, 2024 through August 18, 2025, with options for four additional years if exercised.

Place of Performance
The work may be performed anywhere within the U.S.
