Description

Eastern Range Launch Pad Lightning Warning System Sole Source Justification and Approval

Background
The United States Space Force (USSF), Space Systems Command (SSC), 45th Contracting Squadron is issuing a sole source contract to OTT HydroMet for software development upgrades to the Launch Pad Lightning Warning System (LPLWS).

The LPLWS is crucial for launch safety at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, FL, due to its high lightning discharge rates.

Work Details
The contract includes software development upgrades for the LPLWS, consisting of eight development upgrades, one host computer, one base station computer, and two licenses.

Specific capabilities to be developed include analyzing data for root causes of Field Mill Spikes, independent configurations across workstations, improved graphical displays, and monitoring rainfall in various increments.

OTT HydroMet retains IP rights on prior developments and will obtain unlimited data rights for new developments under this contract.
