DTA Manned/Unmanned Tactical Vehicle Lab   2

Background
The U.S. Army Engineer District, Louisville is issuing a Request for Proposal (RFP) for the construction of a Manned/Unmanned Tactical Vehicle Lab at the Ground Vehicle Systems Center located in Warren, MI. The project aims to support the Army's strategic program delivery requirements by providing facilities for research, development, and testing of ground transport equipment. The estimated contract value exceeds $10 million.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for the design/bid/build construction of a single-story building approximately 31,800 square feet in size. Key features include:
- High bay and lower bay areas for various operational functions including test areas, control rooms, offices, locker rooms, conference and break rooms.
- Laboratory spaces with research test beds and bridge cranes.
- Administrative spaces and equipment storage areas.
- Vehicle access areas with necessary mechanical/electrical/utility support systems.
- Construction of special foundations including vibration-isolation seismic mass foundations and specialized flooring.
- Installation of an Intrusion Detection System (IDS) and Energy Monitoring Control Systems (EMCS).
- Supporting facilities such as site development, utilities installation, paving, storm drainage systems, landscaping, and signage. Heating and cooling will be provided by self-contained systems.

Period of Performance
The contractor is expected to begin performance within 10 calendar days after receiving the notice to proceed and complete the work within 850 calendar days.

Place of Performance
The construction projects will be performed at the Detroit Arsenal located in Warren, MI.
