Description

DRY-DOCK REPAIR OF MV KENNETH EDDY The work consists of furnishing all plant, labor, materials, equipment, and performing all operations required to make repairs to the vessel as specified herein. The Kenneth Eddy is a 3000 hp towboat that has a hull length of 125 ft - 1 in and width of 35 ft - 2 in. Displacement at 75 percent Tankage-453 L Tons. The Contractor shall furnish the necessary facilities for this contract and shall bear the expense of any movement of the towboat while it is at their facility and in their possession. Possession will start at the time when delivery is made by the Government to the Contractor site. Possession ends when the Government picks up the towboat from the Contractor site. All contract work shall be completed within 25 river miles of Paducah, Kentucky on the Ohio, Cumberland, or Tennessee Rivers. Any quotes received that require work to be performed outside of the 25 river miles will be considered nonresponsive.
Background
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is issuing a contract for the dry-dock repair of the MV Kenneth Eddy, a 3000 hp towboat. The mission of this contract is to ensure the vessel is maintained in optimal condition for operational readiness.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for furnishing all plant, labor, materials, and equipment necessary to complete the following tasks:
1. Dry docking the vessel;
2. Pressure washing the hull;
3. Inspecting and repairing/replacing drive shaft packing glands, rudder, cutlass, and strut bearings and seals;
4. Conducting a complete 15,000-hour inspection of the main Caterpillar engines and reporting findings;
5. Replacing port gearbox clutches.

The contractor must also ensure compliance with ABS 'Rules for Building and Classing Steel Vessels' and USCG regulations.

Period of Performance
The contract duration will commence upon award and continue through January 31, 2026.

Place of Performance
All work shall be performed within 25 river miles of Paducah, Kentucky on the Ohio, Cumberland, or Tennessee Rivers.
