The US Army Corps of Engineers, Rock Island District, intends to post an Invitation for Bid for a fixed price contract for fabrication of miter gates, miter gate machinery, culvert valves, and other components. Embedded steel items will include machinery bases, miter gate anchorages, covers, and housing. This will be a supply contract for the new 1200' lock at LaGrange near Versailles, IL. Estimated contract value is between $25M and $100M

The NAICS code for this procurement is 332312 with a size standard not to exceed 500 Employees.

THIS NOTICE IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE BIDS AT THIS TIME.

The purpose of this notification is to allow industry to review the DRAFT solicitation and DRAFT plans and drawings for this project. The attached documents are NOT finalized and the finalized solicitation and plans/specs are estimated to be released in SAM.gov in July-August 2024.

Other important information that is not included in the DRAFT solicitation and DRAFT plans and specs:

Contract duration is 1750 days from date of award. If executed, options will be awarded within 60 days of base contract award. Award of options will not extend the contract duration.

Work Details
The specific products to be manufactured or delivered under the contract include embedded steel items such as machinery bases, miter gate anchorages, covers, and housing. The contract duration is 1750 days from the date of award. Options will be awarded within 60 days of the base contract award. The offeror must submit certifications from the American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC) for all fabrication plants to be utilized for this project.
Additionally, the offeror or proposed subcontractor must provide documentation of membership as a Manufacturer Member of the National Fluid Power Association (NFPA).

Period of Performance
The contract duration is 1750 days from the date of award. If executed, options will be awarded within 60 days of base contract award. Award of options will not extend the contract duration.

Place of Performance
The product will be delivered to LaGrange Lock and Dam in Versailles, Brown and Cass County, IL.
