DPM Packing and Crating

Background
This contract is issued by the Department of Defense (DoD) and focuses on providing packing, containerization, and drayage services for household items. The goal of the contract is to ensure efficient preparation and movement of personal property for DoD personnel through the Direct Procurement Method (DPM). The contractor will be responsible for all necessary personnel, equipment, facilities, supplies, and services required to fulfill these tasks.

Work Details
The contractor will perform the following tasks:

1. Conduct a premove survey to assess the nature of personal property for shipment.
2. Weigh shipments using certified scales to determine gross, tare, and net weights, providing weight tickets as documentation.
3. Provide packing and crating services for outbound, inbound, and intra-city movements in accordance with the Performance Work Statement (PWS).
4. Handle containerization of personal property for both overseas and domestic movement or storage.
5. Manage decontainerization of inbound shipments and facilitate drayage services as needed.

The contractor must adhere to commercial standards of service and best business practices unless specific instructions are provided.

Place of Performance
The services will be performed at various locations as specified in the contract schedule, including terminals identified in individual Contract Line Item Numbers (CLINs).
