DOT - Technology Transfer Program - MRAS

The United States Department of Transportation (DOT), in collaboration with the General Services Administration (GSA), is conducting market research to support the Federal Transit Administration's (FTA) Technology Transfer Program (T2). This initiative is part of the Public Transportation Innovation Program, authorized under 49 U.S. Code 5312, which aims to advance public transportation research and development. The primary objective of the T2 program is to facilitate the deployment and implementation of FTA research and technology products, ensuring that innovative findings benefit both the public transportation industry and its users.

The work requested involves designing, implementing, and managing a program-wide capability that supports FTA's goal of maximizing research product utilization within the public transportation sector. Contractors will be tasked with developing processes, systems, and resources to enhance the deployment and adoption of FTA's innovative research. This includes facilitating commercialization efforts for technologies developed through FTA-funded research, as well as strengthening public transportation stakeholders' capacity to deploy these products effectively.

Key outcomes expected from this contract include developing a comprehensive T2 Plan that outlines strategies for engaging stakeholders across various sectors. This plan will address potential barriers faced by public transportation institutions in adopting new technologies while prioritizing community needs identified through surveys. Additionally, contractors will manage report production processes to ensure compliance with accessibility standards and create professional visual materials for publications. Other responsibilities include maintaining an inventory of active programs and projects funded by FTA research, creating an interactive database for internal and external use, establishing a searchable online research library, and tracking patents related to FTA-funded innovations.
