The contractor caretaker will be responsible for advising boarding passengers to remain off tracks until they receive notification regarding their train's arrival track assignment. This task requires coordination with Amtrak personnel at Richmond Staples Mills Station, who provide real-time information on track assignments after trains depart Richmond Staples Mills. Additionally, caretakers are expected to assist passengers with local information and travel inquiries while advising them on alternate transportation during service disruptions.

Further responsibilities include maintaining communication with the Amtrak District Manager about any service-related concerns identified at Ashland Station, stocking and organizing Amtrak-related signage, and ensuring all materials are up-to-date and accessible. The contractor must also manage invoicing processes independently by preparing and sending invoices with purchase order numbers to the designated billing contact at Richmond Staples Mill Station.

The contractor is required to supply all necessary supervision, labor, tools, equipment, materials, transportation, insurance, and other items needed for these services. They must ensure employee safety and secure their tools and equipment while performing duties in a manner that does not disrupt Amtrak's daily operations. This role is crucial for fostering a welcoming environment for travelers while enhancing operational efficiency at this key transit point in Ashland.
