DOL - DataDog Deployment for Hybrid Environment - MRAS

The U.S. Department of Labor (DOL), in collaboration with the General Services Administration (GSA), is seeking to enhance its IT infrastructure through the deployment of Datadog, a comprehensive monitoring and observability platform. This initiative aims to improve system visibility, streamline incident response efforts, and ensure compliance with federal security standards. The project is part of a broader effort to modernize DOL's IT capabilities by integrating advanced monitoring tools that support both cloud-based and on-premise environments.

The scope of work for this contract involves the design, deployment, and configuration of Datadog across DOL's hybrid infrastructure. This includes setting up Datadog Agents on relevant systems and enabling integrations with various services such as databases, applications, and cloud resources like AWS GovCloud and Azure Government. The contractor will also be responsible for configuring monitoring, logging, and alerting capabilities to provide comprehensive oversight of DOL's systems.

Key tasks include assessing current infrastructure needs, installing Datadog Agents across all in-scope systems, configuring log ingestion pipelines for centralized logging, developing tagging standards that align with organizational structures, creating dashboards aligned with key performance indicators (KPIs), implementing Application Performance Monitoring (APM) features, and conducting thorough system testing and validation. The project must adhere strictly to federal security requirements such as FISMA and NIST SP 800-53 to ensure data protection through encryption in transit and secure API key management.

Successful completion of this project will be marked by the operational status of all monitoring systems within DOL's network. This includes functional alerts and dashboards that meet predefined compliance criteria. Additionally, the contractor will provide detailed documentation along with training materials to facilitate knowledge transfer within DOL staff members.
