Description

The General Services Administration (GSA), on behalf of the Department of Justice (DOJ), is conducting market research to fulfill a requirement for the Federal Bureau of Prisons (FBOP). The FBOP's Health Services Division (HSD) requires access to comprehensive medication clinical, identifier, and price index data to enhance their pharmaceutical-related dashboards. These dashboards are crucial tools that enable Central Office leadership to make informed, real-time decisions on patient health data and medical expenditure initiatives. Additionally, these tools assist facilities in identifying areas where patient health interventions are most needed and in improving national clinical performance measures.

The specific requirement involves obtaining Wolters Kluwer's Medi-Span Electronic Drug File (MED-File) v2 Complete along with the AHFS Supplemental File, which include monthly updates. These datasets are essential for implementing and utilizing HSD dashboards effectively. The requested data files encompass a variety of information necessary for comprehensive drug analysis and management within the FBOP healthcare system. This includes drug names, therapeutic classifications, National Drug Codes (NDCs), labeler information, packaging details, pricing information such as Average Wholesale Price (AWP) and Wholesale Acquisition Cost (WAC), as well as various identifiers and modifiers that describe drug attributes not captured elsewhere.

The datasets required for this initiative include several key components: a Drug Name File documenting both brand and generic names along with dosage forms; a TC-GPI Name File outlining therapeutic hierarchies; an NDC File detailing product codes and attributes; a Labeler File identifying manufacturers; GPPC Files providing packaging descriptions; Secondary Alternate ID Files offering additional identifiers like UPCs; Error Correct Files addressing any corrections made in updates; GPPC Price Files listing proprietary prices; NDC Price Files showing various pricing metrics from manufacturers; Modifier Files codifying unique drug attributes; NDC Modifier Files linking these attributes to products appropriately, among others.
