Description

The Department of Justice (DOJ), through the General Services Administration (GSA), is seeking market research to identify potential contractors for a project involving the maintenance and repair of specialized equipment. The primary objective is to ensure the optimal functioning of four Tenny Environmental Chambers, which are crucial for simulating various environmental testing conditions such as temperature, humidity, altitude, and vacuum. These chambers are located at Redstone Arsenal in Alabama and play a critical role in supporting the DOJ's operational requirements.

The scope of work involves performing OEM-recommended preventative maintenance on each chamber to maintain their operational efficiency. Additionally, contractors are expected to carry out minor repairs using available van stock and conduct thorough functional testing and calibrations to verify that each chamber operates correctly. A detailed service report must be submitted for each unit, documenting the tasks completed, parts replaced, test results obtained, and any recommendations for future maintenance or repairs.

Among the specific issues highlighted in this solicitation are one chamber that is currently non-operational and another experiencing high stage compressor protection module alarm issues. The remaining two chambers require routine preventative maintenance checks. Contractors must complete all services within four business days following a Notice to Proceed. The work requires technicians with at least five years of direct experience servicing Tenny Environmental Chambers or those authorized by the OEM.

Contractors will need to bring all necessary tools and parts as no government-furnished equipment will be provided. The performance standards dictate that all chambers must meet stable operational ranges as per OEM specifications after service completion. Access to Redstone Arsenal requires obtaining a pass; therefore, personnel must be willing to provide personal information necessary for security checks.
