DOJ - FAC-C Course Instruction and Materials - MRAS

The Department of Justice (DOJ), in collaboration with the General Services Administration (GSA), is conducting market research to develop an innovative acquisition career program. This initiative aims to address the evolving needs of federal recruitment and retention, particularly in specialized skill sets such as those required for 1102 Contract Specialists. The overarching goal of this program is to cultivate a robust talent pool within the DOJ by creating a structured, cohort-based learning environment that will prepare entry-level acquisition professionals for the challenges of their roles.

The core component of this initiative involves partnering with a vendor capable of delivering Defense Acquisition University (DAU) equivalent training courses. These courses are essential for meeting the Federal Acquisition Certification in Contracting (FAC-C) requirements and include CON110V, CON1200V, CON1300V, and CON1400V. The selected vendor must provide virtual, instructor-led sessions that can accommodate up to 30 students per class. This approach ensures that all participants receive consistent training and are well-prepared to achieve FAC-C certification upon completing the program.

Scheduled to commence in July 2026, this program represents a strategic effort by the DOJ to enhance its acquisition workforce's skills and capabilities. The proposed training timeline includes key courses spread over several months: Contract Fundamental Skills in August 2026, Contract Pre-Award in October 2026, Contract Award in January 2027, and Contract Post Award in March 2027.
