Description

The Department of Justice (DOJ), in collaboration with the General Services Administration (GSA), is conducting market research to support the DEA Information Systems Division's need for VMware/Broadcom licensing and support services. This initiative is part of a broader effort to maintain and enhance the DEA's existing IT infrastructure, ensuring it meets current operational demands while remaining adaptable to future technological advancements. The overall goal is to ensure that the DEA's IT systems are robust, secure, and capable of supporting its critical law enforcement activities.

The work requested involves a comprehensive suite of services centered around VMware/Broadcom products. This includes not only the procurement of necessary licenses but also software installation, configuration, and ongoing maintenance services. A significant aspect of this requirement is providing support for expanding system capacity as well as adapting to evolving security requirements, which are crucial for maintaining the integrity and efficiency of DEA operations.

Additionally, there is a need for flexibility in license management, allowing adjustments in license quantities annually based on usage needs. This ensures that resources are allocated efficiently without overcommitting or underutilizing licenses. The specific deliverables include 14,672 licenses for VMware Cloud Foundation 5 (U.S. Federal) on a one-year prepaid basis per core and 200 global term subscriptions for VMware Live Recovery on a twelve-month prepaid basis per virtual machine.
