Description

The U.S. General Services Administration (GSA), on behalf of the Department of Justice (DOJ), is conducting market research to identify potential contractors capable of providing Occupational Safety and Health Training for the Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP). The BOP operates with a workforce of approximately 36,500 employees across 122 locations in the United States and Puerto Rico. Each institution within the BOP is self-sufficient and adheres to complex operations governed by federal laws, including those set forth by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), as well as applicable state laws, DOJ policies, and BOP-specific procedures.

The primary focus of this contract is to engage authorized OSHA Training Institute (OTI) Education Centers that can deliver a comprehensive Occupational Safety & Health Training program. This program aims to equip employees within each institution's dedicated Occupational Safety and Health Department with the necessary skills and knowledge to implement effective safety programs at their respective locations. The training must align with BOP policy requirements, ensuring that all personnel involved in safety management are thoroughly prepared to uphold high standards of health and safety.

Specifically, this solicitation seeks proposals from qualified training providers who can offer a curriculum that includes courses outlined in Section 2.0 of the Statement of Work. These courses will be critical in maintaining compliance with relevant OSHA standards and guidelines while also integrating DOJ and BOP security, safety, and conduct policies. By achieving these objectives, the BOP aims to enhance its operational efficiency while safeguarding its workforce against occupational hazards.
