Description

In accordance with the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) Reauthorization Act of 2011, the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) is provided funding for discretionary commercialization assistance to all DOE SBIR and STTR grant awardees. The John S. McCain National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year (FY) 2019 has denoted this commercialization assistance as Technical and Business Assistance (TABA) Program. The DOE TABA Program is designed to assess the commercialization potential of DOE SBIR/STTR technologies and provide SBIR/STTR awardees with tools and advice to implement a go-to-market strategy. Services provided under the TABA Program cover areas such as assessing small business commercialization gaps, identifying markets and customers, and helping awardees connect to business partners and key stakeholders.
