DOD - Dover AFB 2G Wireless LAN Upgrade - MRAS

The 436th Communications Squadron (436 CS) at Dover Air Force Base (AFB) is seeking to upgrade its existing 2G Wireless LAN equipment to the latest JITC approved hardware. The purpose of this upgrade is to increase bandwidth, signal strength, and improve wireless coverage across the base, particularly in the Flightline areas. The contractor will be responsible for providing the necessary equipment/materials (Wireless Access Points [Indoor/Outdoor] and Mobility Controllers) and Professional Support Services (Survey, Design, and Install) to successfully implement this requirement. The scope of work includes project management, planning, equipment installation and set-up, training, and providing knowledge management artifacts. The delivery date for this project is within 120 calendar days from the date of contract award.

The place of performance for this project is Dover AFB in Delaware. The contractor will be required to assess and design an optimized plan for the installation of 435 indoor/outdoor HPE Aruba APs and two HPE Aruba 9240 wireless controllers. They will also need to install/mount/configure access points both indoors and outdoors, remove existing Aruba APs and legacy equipment, install/configure the wireless controllers in B310's data center, test cabling and fiber connectivity, replace broken media converters, integrate with the existing network authentication server, provide training on maintaining and configuring the new APs and controllers, and provide knowledge management artifacts.

Notable requirements include a one-year warranty on all equipment and work conducted under this contract, as well as up to three years of sustainment support for the installed wireless equipment. Contractor network engineers must hold a minimum certification of CompTIA Security Plus or an equivalent or higher-level certification. Additionally, all personnel employed by the contractor or entering Dover AFB must abide by security instructions and directives. Contractor badges will be issued for a maximum period of one year, with requirements for background investigations and reporting of lost or stolen badges.
