Document Destruction & Disposal - Sioux Falls, SD Veterans Administration

Background
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is issuing a solicitation for commercial document destruction and disposal services for the Sioux Falls VA Health Care System. The goal of this contract is to ensure secure destruction of sensitive documents and materials in compliance with federal regulations, thereby protecting the privacy of veterans and other individuals associated with the VA.

Work Details
The Contractor shall provide all labor, personnel, equipment, supplies, secured vehicles, materials, supervision, and other related services necessary to provide commercial document destruction and disposal services for the Sioux Falls VA Health Care System’s main hospital.

Services will be performed once per week at a specified time between 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM from Monday to Wednesday. The Contractor will provide lockable bins for document storage until destruction. The service includes shredding paper materials to meet specific size requirements (1x5 millimeters) and ensuring final destruction of sensitive materials such as prescription bottles, CDs, DVDs, and magnetic tapes.

The Contractor must also provide interim destruction onsite and final destruction offsite with a certification of destruction provided to the Contracting Officer Representative (COR). Compliance with VA Directive 6371 regarding document shredding is mandatory.

Period of Performance
Base year from September 1, 2025 to August 31, 2026, with four option years extending through August 31, 2030.

Sioux Falls VA Health Care System’s main hospital located at 2501 W. 22nd Street, Sioux Falls, SD 57105.
