Background
The solicitation is for the purchase and installation of twelve new dock seals at the USDA APHIS PPQ PIS in Miami, FL. The purpose of the project is to replace unserviceable dock seals to provide protection and seal around the trailers at the loading dock doors. The desired end results include lower energy costs, minimizing contaminants, protecting valuable products and cargo from weather-related damage, passing audits and inspections, and creating a safe and comfortable environment for employees.

Work Details
The work required includes the removal and disposal of old dock seals, surface preparation for installation of new door seals, and installation of twelve new dock seals. The desired door seals should be constructed of an industrial fabric that is highly resistant to tears, abrasions, and constant contact. They should have a support structure made of kiln-dried, superior-grade backing lumber for pest resistance and durable use. Additionally, the unit should have a condensation drainage system to keep the loading area dry, two full-height yellow guide strips for easy visibility, and galvanized mounting hardware for installation.

Period of Performance
The period of performance will depend on the availability of materials required for installation in place of the old door seals. Dates will be adjusted with the awardee for completion date.
