DNA Sequencing For Invasive Forest Pathogens and Soil Microbes

ID: 1106816 • Type: Sources Sought

Description

Our research on molecular diagnostics, metabarcoding/metagenomics, phylogenetics/phylogenomics, population genetics/genomics of endemic/invasive/emerging forest pathogens, and other host/microbe species requires services that provide diverse, accurate, and precise DNA/RNA sequencing services (whole genome sequencing, Sanger sequencing, transcriptome sequencing) and FTA cards processing.

The Contractor shall supply the necessary personnel, reagents, and laboratory equipment needed to perform the following:

  • Processing DNA (genomic and targeted amplicons) and RNA (including miRNA)
    • approximately 2,300 samples
  • Next Generation Sequencing (e.g., Illumina- NovaSeq6000, PacBio-Revio platform)
    • approximately 2 samples
  • Processing FTA card samples (e.g., DNA extraction, PCR, and genomic/metagenomic sequencing)
    • approximately 11 samples
  • Fast turn-around time (typically within 24 - 48 hours for Sanger Sequencing and 4-6 weeks for Next Generation Sequencing)
  • Sample tracking systems (barcoded label sample tracking systems)
  • Must process the samples in USA.

**This is for Market Research Only. NO AWARD will result from this Sources Sought posting.**

Please complete the attached questionnaire and return it with any documents supporting your company's ability to fulfill these services for future potential efforts.

Background
The Pacific Northwest Research Station, Corvallis Forestry Sciences Laboratory, Corvallis, OR, is seeking services for DNA sequencing for invasive forest pathogens and soil microbes. The research requires diverse, accurate, and precise DNA/RNA sequencing services (whole genome sequencing, Sanger sequencing, transcriptome sequencing) and FTA cards processing. The need also includes accurate DNA-based methods to identify the primary pathogen and other interacting agents, as well as the challenges in understanding forest diseases and the requirement for innovative approaches to assess interactions and functions of microbial communities in forest disease processes.

Work Details
The contractor is required to supply personnel, reagents, and laboratory equipment to perform tasks including processing DNA (genomic and targeted amplicons) and RNA (including miRNA), next-generation sequencing (e.g., Illumina- NovaSeq6000, PacBio-Revio platform), processing FTA card samples (e.g., DNA extraction, PCR, and genomic/metagenomic sequencing), ensuring fast turn-around time for sequencing, implementing sample tracking systems with barcoded label sample tracking systems, and processing the samples in the USA.

Place of Performance
The contract work will be performed at the Pacific Northwest Research Station, Corvallis Forestry Sciences Laboratory in Corvallis, OR.
