Background
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is seeking a contractor to provide Durable Medical Equipment (DME) and related services for the Washington DC Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC).

The goal of this contract is to ensure that veterans receive necessary medical equipment and support in a timely manner, enhancing their quality of care at home. This contract is part of the VA's mission to deliver high-quality healthcare services to veterans.

Work Details
The contractor shall provide all supplies, materials, equipment, labor, supervision, transportation, infection control, storage, cleaning, delivery, sanitization, assembly/set-up, repair, pick-up and patient training/instruction-in-the-use of Government-owned Durable Medical Equipment (DME).

Specific tasks include:
- Setup and delivery of DME to beneficiaries at their residences.
- Installation and repair of DME as needed.
- Emergency visits for urgent needs related to DME.
- Cancellations and rescheduling of services as required.
- Compliance with applicable wages and hours laws. The contractor must also demonstrate understanding of home delivery services and patient education tailored to vulnerable populations.

Period of Performance
The period of performance for the contract will be from August 1, 2026 through July 31, 2027.

Place of Performance
The contract will be performed primarily at the residences of veterans within the service area surrounding the Washington DC VAMC.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must be Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSBC). They are required to have a storage facility located within 30 miles of the Washington VAMC that meets specified requirements.

Bidders must also provide proof of The Joint Commission Accreditation valid within the last three years. Additionally, bidders should submit evidence of past performance on similar contracts completed in the last three years.
