NOTICE OF INTENT

THIS IS FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY. Under the authority of FAR6.302-5(a)(2)(ii), 10 U.S.C 2304(c)(5), the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Norfolk District, intends to procure, on a brand name specification basis, elements within an upcoming solicitation for the DLA Aviation, Ops Center, Phase 2. The supported construction project consists of components that USACE intends to require for specific systems product line. The manufacturer's product has unique capabilities that meet the user's stringent requirements for top-quality and secure requirements and maintains compatibility with existing systems.

Greensleeve Technology and Nederman Products are the only manufacturer in the industry that manufactures components to meet required specifications and warranty requirements and maintain compatibility with existing systems. Due to the unique operational requirements, the user requires a homogeneous system that reduces the risk to compatibility/interoperability with existing systems already tested and in use.

The contracting officer intends to prepare Justification and Approval documentation (J&A) to include the following requirement for Brand Name items to be included in the solicitation package:

All potential responsible sources may submit a response, which if timely received, will be considered by the agency. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. It is a market research tool being used to determine the availability of other qualified sources that can meet the requirements identified above. The Government is not obligated to and will not pay for any information received from potential sources as a result of this notice of intent.

This Notice of Intent is hereby published accordance with FAR 5.203(a). All responses received within fifteen (15) days of the posting of this notice, will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete these elements based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will generally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.

The Norfolk District will consider any responses to this notice received within fifteen (15) calendar days of the posting of the notice.
