Disposal/Destruction of Expired MRE's

Background
The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is issuing this solicitation to provide disposal and destruction services for expired meal components. The agency's mission is to support the nation in preparing for, responding to, recovering from, and mitigating all hazards.

This contract aims to ensure the safe and compliant disposal of expired meals, thereby preventing any potential public health risks associated with re-entering these products into circulation.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for the disposal/destruction of approximately 330 pallets of expired Meal Ready-to-Eat (MRE) components, with an estimated total weight of 143,550 lbs. The services include:
- Transportation pick-up from FEMA Annex Warehouses located at 1000 Carr. 506 Coto Laurel, Ponce, PR 00780.
- Compliance with all federal, state, and local transportation and disposal ordinances.
- Provision of a schedule for pickups and deliveries as needed.
- Submission of a Proof/Certificate of Destruction within three business days after the destruction of meals to ensure they do not re-enter circulation.
- Monthly invoicing based on the number of meals destroyed.
- Capability Statement submission addressing technical evaluation factors as requested.

Period of Performance
The estimated period of performance for this contract is 30 days from the date of award.

Place of Performance
The contract will be performed at FEMA Annex Warehouses in Ponce, Puerto Rico.
