Dillon Lake and Dam; Parking Lot Paving

Background
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is issuing this contract for the purpose of paving the parking lot at Dillon Lake, located in Zanesville, Ohio. The mission of the Corps is to provide vital public engineering services in peace and war to strengthen the nation's security, energize the economy, and reduce risks from disasters. This contract aims to enhance the accessibility and safety of the parking area adjacent to recreational facilities.

Work Details
The contractor shall furnish all equipment, labor, supplies, drawings, and supervision necessary to install base materials and asphalt for a parking lot area of approximately 40,000 square feet. The work includes:

1. Site Preparation: Repairing faults or low areas in existing base material; installing new base materials with a total thickness of at least 3 inches after compaction; compacting base materials; preparing catch basin areas for asphalt installation to ensure proper drainage.

2. Installation of Asphalt: Installing at least 2 inches of asphalt pavement top course; ensuring proper sloping for drainage; utilizing rolling equipment for compaction; correcting any surface irregularities immediately after paving.

3. Line Painting: Painting lines for at least 50 regular parking spaces and 2 handicap spaces; installing directional arrows on pavement.

4. Site Restoration: Removing excess materials and restoring disturbed areas to their original condition, including spreading grass seed and straw as necessary.

5. Protection of Materials: Ensuring proper handling and protection of all materials until project completion; maintaining quality control records available upon request.

Period of Performance
Work must begin within thirty (30) days after receiving notice to proceed and be completed within thirty (30) days thereafter.
