Digital Engineering (DE) Tool Interoperability

Background
The U.S. Army seeks to better understand current capabilities and future development needs with respect to tool interoperability that enable digital engineering for systems development throughout the system’s lifecycle. The Army identifies digital transformation as a key means to achieve its strategy for modernization, envisioning itself as a digitally-enabled, data-driven organization propelled by digital and model-based engineering methods and infrastructure.

Work Details
The RFI invites industry to submit relevant information, comments, capabilities, and recommendations for approaches, potential development, implementation opportunities, and corresponding business models relevant to the challenges associated with achieving interoperability across heterogeneous tool environments, produced artifacts, and leveraged data formats. The Army recognizes that successful digital engineering practice relies heavily on the development of integrated frameworks that link models and other sources of data. A critical aspect of deploying such a framework is ensuring sources of data – tools - can interoperate.
