Description

Diesel Engines Repair and Maintenance

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New Orleans District has a requirement for inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, analysis, overhaul and repair of eight Caterpillar Engines installed onboard the vessel Dredge Wheeler.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New Orleans District has a requirement for the inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, analysis, overhaul, and repair of eight Caterpillar Engines installed onboard the vessel Dredge Wheeler.

The mission of the Corps is to provide vital engineering services to the nation in peace and war, ensuring that the nation's waters are safe and navigable.

Work Details
The contractor will perform the following tasks:
1. Inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, analysis, overhaul, and repair of four marine diesel engines (CATERPILLAR models C280-16 and C280-12) and three marine diesel ship service generator engines (CATERPILLAR model 3516), as well as one marine diesel emergency generator engine (CATERPILLAR model C7.1).
2. The contractor must be a Caterpillar Authorized Dealer with technical ability and experience to service C280 series engines and smaller engines.
3. Provide all necessary supervision, qualified personnel, tools, supplies, repair parts, spare parts, and resources necessary for servicing the engines.
4. Conduct major overhauls including replacing cylinder heads, pistons, turbochargers, fuel injection equipment among others.
5. Ensure all contractor-furnished material and workmanship comply with manufacturer’s recommended testing procedures.
6. Respond to scheduled work within three calendar days and unscheduled emergency repairs within 24 hours after notification.

Place of Performance
The majority of work will be performed while the dredge is moored at the Corps of Engineers' New Orleans district wharf located at 7400 Leake Ave, New Orleans, LA 70118.
