Background
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is the second-largest federal department, serving approximately 19 million Veterans in over 1,700 facilities and sites worldwide. The Office of Information & Technology (OIT) delivers secure and cost-effective technology services to the VA, focusing on enhancing Veteran outcomes through Connectivity and Collaboration Services (CCS).

This Request for Information (RFI) is for planning purposes only regarding Network Engineering, Design, Implementation and Infrastructure Support (NEDIIS) ReCompete. The goal is to gather information from interested vendors to assess capabilities specific to the required services outlined in the Performance Work Statement (PWS).

Work Details
The Contractor shall provide technical support services for the VA enterprise network security and transportation services, including: project management, documentation management, asset management, change/configuration management, network operations and maintenance, telecommunication support, software development and support, database administration and support.

Specific tasks include:
- Design, implement, maintain, operate and improve VA's enterprise network.
- Provide service design and configuration of network devices.
- Collect metrics and perform evaluations for hardware/software.
- Support OIT initiatives such as WAN design transformation and telecommunication services.
- Ensure compliance with federal mandates regarding data center consolidation and IPv6 transition.
- Provide visibility support for network security through monitoring tools.
- Manage remote access solutions with a focus on security compliance.
- Deliver reports on performance metrics and capacity planning.

Period of Performance
The Period of Performance is set for 12 months from the date of Task Order award with four optional 12-month periods.

Place of Performance
Contractor facilities (offsite) and various VA facilities including locations in Shepherdstown, Washington D.C., Landover Maryland, Austin Texas, Hines Illinois, Chicago Illinois, Santa Clara California, Sterling Virginia.
