DFAS Job Access With Speech (JAWS) Scripting Market Research

The Defense Finance and Accounting Service (DFAS) has issued a Request for Information (RFI) seeking cost-effective Job Access With Speech (JAWS) scripting services providers. The purpose of this acquisition is to modify JAWS screen reader software to accommodate accessibility challenges faced by DFAS personnel. DFAS is looking for vendors who can provide JAWS scripting services on-site and remotely, including assessment of the end-user's current environment, scripting installation, and script maintenance updating. The agency also seeks rapid deployment strategies for scripting to improve efficiency and simplify complex tasks for employees. Vendors are requested to provide pricing for JAWS scripting services, remote support services, ongoing services in conjunction with system/program updates, and in-person JAWS scripting services.

Small businesses are encouraged to respond to this RFI as part of DFAS's market research activities. The agency is interested in communicating with vendors who provide their own JAWS Scripting Services and wants to determine the potential levels of competition available in the industry. Small business firms capable of performing the tasking described in the RFI are encouraged to respond. The response should include information about the company's JAWS Scripting Services, applicable NAICS codes, and whether they would submit as an 8a, Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Business, and/or HUBZone. DFAS requests that responses be submitted by March 11, 2022.

Responses will not be considered offers or accepted to form a binding contract. The RFI includes a clause regarding ensuring adequate COVID-19 safety protocols for federal contractors, which the contractor must comply with.
