Detail Design and Construction of LPD 33-35 Amphibious Transport Dock Ship   2

The Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) has awarded a contract to Huntington Ingalls Industries (Ingalls Shipbuilding of Pascagoula, MS, 1000 Access Rd, Pascagoula, MS 39567-4486) for the procurement of detail design and construction of Landing Platform Dock 33, 34, and 35 (LPD 33-35).

In accordance with 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1) as implemented in Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1(a)(2)(ii), Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements wherein supplies may be deemed to be available only from the original source in the case of a follow-on contract for the continued production when it is likely that award to any other source would result in substantial duplication of cost to the Government that is not expected to be recovered through competition and unacceptable delays in fulfilling the Agency's requirements.
