Design Build – Replace Surfaces at Nimitz Field and NAPS McCool Track, NAVAL STATION NEWPORT, NEWPORT, RI   3

Background
The contract is issued by the Naval Station Newport, which is part of the U.S. Navy. The mission of this contract is to enhance athletic facilities by replacing surfaces at Nimitz Field and the McCool Track, thereby improving the quality and safety of these sports areas for users.

The goal is to provide a modernized and functional environment for athletic activities.

Work Details
The work includes:
(1) replacing the artificial turf system on the Nimitz athletic field;
(2) replacing the surface on the McCool running track and other track and field areas within the work area;
(3) removing an abandoned manhole;
(4) an option to extend the work area to install artificial turf in the north and south semicircular areas;
(5) an option to provide an electrical power supply to the press box.

Additionally, LID (Low Impact Development) requirements must be incorporated into the project. The facility Category Code Number (CCN) is 75020 'Playing Fields'.
