Description

This is a Pre-Solicitation Notice. This notice does not constitute a request for proposal, request for quote or invitation for bid. Luke Air Force Base intends to issue a firm-fixed price award as a result of the upcoming solicitation, providing for services to to palletize, mark/label, and secure (Ref: MIL-STD 129 Military Marking for Shipment and Storage), pick up, transport, and demilitarize/dispose of conventional munitions by a recognized industry standard method complying with all State and Federal laws for a variety of conventional munitions. Approximately 20000 lbs of munitions (approximately 3000 lbs Net Explosive Wt)This notice does not commit the Government to a contract. It is the Government's intent to post the solicitation within 10 day of this notice.

Background
This is a Pre-Solicitation Notice issued by Luke Air Force Base for the demilitarization and disposal of conventional munitions. The contractor will be responsible for palletizing, marking/labeling, securing, picking up, transporting, and demilitarizing/disposing of approximately 20000 lbs of munitions (approximately 3000 lbs Net Explosive Wt) purchased from the United States Air Force (USAF). The notice does not commit the Government to a contract, but indicates the intent to post the solicitation within 10 days of this notice.

Work Details
The contractor will palletize, mark/label, and secure munitions, pick up, transport, and demilitarize/dispose of conventional munitions by a recognized industry standard method complying with all State and Federal laws. The contractor will also be responsible for decontamination, demilitarization requirements, ammunition transportation/receipt/storage/inventory, safety compliance, decontamination procedures, security requirements, environmental compliance, and obtaining hazardous component safety data sheets/hazard classifications/interim hazard classifications.
