Defense Supply Center Richmond(DSCR) - Building 46 - Chiller Tower Coil Replacement   2

Background
The Defense Supply Center Richmond (DSCR) is seeking to replace the leaking coil assembly on CCC-2 (cooling tower) at Building 46. The existing cooling tower developed a leak in the coil assembly during the past winter, necessitating repairs to ensure functionality as a backup to the geothermal system. This repair is critical to prevent HVAC shutdowns at Building 46, which includes Chillers, MultiStack, and CRAC units for IT/Comms rooms.

The cooling tower is manufactured by Baltimore Aircoil Company, model FXV-1212C-16Q-0.

Work Details
The Contractor shall provide certified personnel with expertise in Cooling Tower repair, HVAC, Plumbing, and Electrical systems. The tasks include:

- Shutting down and isolating the cooling tower system;
- Draining the cooling tower basin;
- Removing access panels and fan assemblies;
- Disconnecting piping and insulation from the existing coil;
- Safely removing and rigging the old coil;
- Disposing of the old coil in accordance with environmental regulations;
- Inspecting the new coil for shipping damage;
- Rigging and placing the new coil into the cooling tower;
- Connecting piping to ensure proper sealing;
- Reinstalling any removed components;
- Conducting leak testing of the new coil and connections;
- Refilling the cooling tower basin;
- Performing system start-up and verification of operation (temperature, flow rates);
- Conducting performance testing of the cooling tower with the new coil installed;
- Cleaning up the work area and removing debris; and
- Providing a portable toilet at the work site.

Period of Performance
Completion date shall be no later than 120 days after notice to proceed.
