Defense Experimentation Using Commercial Space Internet (DEUCSI)   14

This effort will develop and experimentally test satellite communications systems capable of operating with multiple commercial space internet constellations operating in low, medium, and geostationary earth orbits. The terminals and the flexible communications capability delivered will be tested in the Arctic environment, on mobile ground vehicles, and aboard multiple aircraft.

This effort was competitive. This was awarded as a cost-plus fixed fee contract due to the uncertainties in pricing this effort. In selecting the approporiate contract type, the contracting officer considered the factors in FAR 16.104.
