Debris Removal Vehicles (DRV) - Barges   2

Background
The Nashville District of the US Army Corps of Engineers is seeking product designs and construction for two coupled steel work barges intended to support debris removal operations at Lake Cumberland.

The goal of this contract is to develop a complete design that meets specific operational requirements while adhering to safety and engineering standards set forth by the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS).

Work Details
The contract involves the design and construction of two coupled steel work barges with the following specifications:
- Dimensions: Approximately 75 feet long, 36 feet wide, and a hull depth of 5 feet.
- The barges will support a material handling grapple on a telescoping knuckle boom (46-50 feet long) capable of lifting 2,000 lbs at full reach.
- Each barge will be outfitted with a small deckhouse, tool room, generator, fuel tanks, and government-furnished equipment (GFE) including a woodchipper and dumpster.
- The design must comply with ABS Class requirements for 'ABS Maltese Cross A-1 Barge, River Service, Reinforcement B'.
- Deliverables include ANSI B size drawings prepared in AutoCAD or equivalent, detailing accurate general arrangements, sizes of structures, piping, wiring, and locations of heavy equipment.
- Specific requirements also include stability analysis under intact and damaged conditions, ensuring that the barge remains afloat with positive stability even when flooded.

The barges are to be designed for operation within Lake Cumberland, Kentucky.
