Databricks Master Cloud Services Agreement and US Public Sector Services

Background
The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) is seeking to procure a renewal of Databricks licenses and supporting services to maintain the functionality of its Enterprise Data Platform (EDP). This acquisition is crucial for the IRS's modernization, data, and cloud initiatives, which require a robust and scalable data Lakehouse to host analytical data.

The EDP serves as the foundation for advanced analytics, reporting, and artificial intelligence (AI) initiatives across the agency. The IRS has selected Databricks as the enterprise platform for EDP following a thorough Alternatives Analysis in 2022 that evaluated various large-scale commercial data platforms against IRS mission requirements.

Work Details
The contract will involve the procurement of Databricks products and services necessary for the continued operation of the IRS EDP. Key tasks include:
- Hosting big data engineering pipelines for ingestion and processing of structured and unstructured data.
- Enabling analytical workloads for advanced data science, machine learning, and business intelligence.
- Supporting modernization of mission-critical IRS systems that drive taxpayer services, enforcement, and compliance.
- Meeting new legislative requirements for timely, accurate, and secure data handling.
- Providing a unified Lakehouse platform that supports end-to-end analytics and machine learning while ensuring governance, security, and performance for sensitive federal tax information.

Period of Performance
The period of performance will be for a base period of twelve (12) months with two additional twelve (12) month option periods.

Place of Performance
The contract will be performed at the Internal Revenue Service located in New Carrollton, MD.
