Data Bus Test Cables Set P/N BHT-H1-1003, NSN 4920-01-505-5149

The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division, Lakehurst, intends to issue a sole source contract to Southwest Inter Connect, Inc. Cage Code 00HC0 for the procurement of Data Bus Test Cables Set P/N BHT-H1-1003, NSN 4920-01-505-5149 in support of the Bahrain Defense Force (BDF) AH-1Z Program, and an option for an additional quantity two (2) of same for the Czech Republic Ministry of Defense (MoD) H-1 Program. Southwest Inter Connect, Inc. Cage Code 00HC0 is the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), is the only source with the experience, technical expertise and components to supply the 1553 Data Bus Test Cable Sets to meet the maintenance requirements of the Bahrain Defense Force (BDF) and Czech Republic Ministry of Defense (MoD). SWI's 1553 Data Bus Test Cable Set is unique because it is a vendor custom design specific to the H-1 upgrade 1553 Data Bus Cable test requirements using the S2476 Test Set. The cable set consisting of approximately twenty-eight (28) cable adapters provides for interconnection to the Data Bus Tester (P/N S2476N) to test selected segments of the 1553 cable by connecting the tester at WRA connector stubs. The cables are shielded for EMI protection and are housed in a ruggedized case that provides for protection, storage and transport. Southwest Inter Connect Inc. (CAGE 00HC0) (SWI) owns the proprietary rights to the engineering data and detailed product drawings for the 1553 Data Bus Test Cable Set and does not have any authorized distributors for this equipment. As such, SWI is therefore the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and sole qualified manufacturer and supplier of this SE and is the only known source that is capable of providing the above SE of the same form, fit and function that is compatible with the existing configuration. The Government does not possess the technical data.

NAVAIR intends to procure under the authority of 10 USC 2304 (C) (1), as implemented in FAR 6.302-1. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. However, the Government will consider all responses received within fifteen days after the date of publication of this synopsis. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received as a result of the notice of intent will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
