Background
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is conducting this Request for Information (RFI) to gather market research regarding ongoing licensing, maintenance, support, and subscription services for enterprise software capabilities utilized across various VA organizations. This initiative aims to consolidate three internal VA requirements into a single procurement action to enhance operational continuity and streamline contract management.

The VA heavily relies on VMware technologies, now owned by Broadcom, for core virtualization capabilities that support both legacy and modern applications. The RFI is part of a broader effort to comply with recent Executive Orders aimed at improving federal procurement efficiency and transparency.

Work Details
The VA requires the following services:

1. Continued access to VMware licensing, updates, security patches, and technical support services essential for stable virtualization operations as they transition from the legacy VMware Cloud Provider Program (VCPP) to VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF).

2. Ongoing subscription and maintenance support for Broadcom Computer Associates (CA) Technologies mainframe software deployed across the enterprise, which includes timely software updates, diagnostic support, secure file-transfer capabilities, updated licensing documentation, and reliable technical service request channels.

3. Maintenance and support for existing Broadcom (CA) Service Virtualization perpetual licenses critical for simulating interfaces and testing electronic health record workflows. This includes updates, patches, service notifications, and 24/7 technical assistance to ensure high-quality EHR testing and evaluation. The attached product table outlines specific products, services, and expected timelines required for each VA program.
