Artificial Intelligence CDSP Summarizations - New TO (VA-25-00097498) VetsFirst Sole Source to SGL-360, LLC   2

Background
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) intends to award a sole source contract to SGL360, LLC under the authority of 41 U.S.C. 3304(a)(5), which allows for contracts that are authorized or required by statute. This contract aims to enhance the experiences of Veterans, their family members, caregivers, and VA employees through the development of an AI-powered clinical documentation search and summarization solution.

Work Details
The contractor will build an AI-powered Clinical Decision Support (CDS) summarization solution to reduce clinician burden, increase care team efficiency, and improve quality of care for Veterans. The work includes:

1. Ingesting structured and unstructured clinical data from VistA via Remote Procedure Call (RPC) and other data connectors.
2. Utilizing a VA-approved Large Language Model (LLM) environment to generate pre-encounter summaries.
3. Outputting structured summaries in standard formats for downstream use such as encounter documentation, care coordination, patient-facing summaries, and referrals.
4. Integrating with clinician workflow via VA’s existing Clinical Decision Support Console.
5. Supporting human-in-the-loop review of output while adhering to VA trustworthy AI principles.
6. Delivering high-quality, usable products that assist users in accomplishing their tasks while following agile practices and the Digital Services Playbook.

Period of Performance
The Base Period of Performance is from September 30, 2025 through September 29, 2026, consisting of 24 two-week iterations. Option Period One is from September 30, 2026 through March 30, 2027 with an additional 13 iterations. Option Period Two follows from March 31, 2027 through September 30, 2027 with another set of 13 iterations.

Place of Performance
Tasks will be performed at Contractor facilities within the continental United States.
