Background
The Department of the Interior (DOI), through its Office of the Chief Information Officer, is establishing a Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) for Earth Observation Solution Services to acquire remote sensing data products from Planet Labs, Inc. This initiative aims to support DOI's land management, earth science, and natural resource missions by centralizing and streamlining the ordering process for remote sensing data.

Work Details
The contract involves purchasing remote sensing data products directly from Planet Labs, Inc., as they have no authorized resellers. The DOI Bureaus have previously acquired such data through over 12 stand-alone purchase orders in the last two years. The demand for these services is expected to increase due to the grounding of unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) for security reasons, necessitating reliance on imagery from Planet Labs.
